What is lead qualification?

By LeadFormHub Editorial Team ·

Lead qualification is deciding which new contacts deserve a fast reply. You ask one or two questions, and you use the answer to set a status. Include a not sure choice so people are not pushed into a false answer. The form does not score the lead for you.

Why it matters

Without a sorting question, every submission looks the same and the urgent ones wait. One honest answer about timing or intent is usually enough to choose who gets the first call.

Example

Illustrative example. A coaching form asks when the person wants to start: this week, this month, or just exploring. This week is called first. Just exploring gets a short reply and a follow-up date. Nobody is scored inside the product. You read the answer and set the status yourself.

How to measure or apply it

Put the question in a dropdown or radio, with a not sure option. After submit, set a status, a note, and a follow-up date on the lead. If you want a 0 to 100 reading, use an illustrative model outside the product: need 30, timeline 25, budget 20, authority 15, and fit 10. Hot is 70 or more, warm is 40 to 69, and cold is below 40. Tune those lines with your own results.

In LeadFormHub

LeadFormHub does not score leads. The leads table stores the answers, notes, a status, and a follow-up date on every plan. Assignment to a teammate is on plans that include team members. There is no conditional logic, so keep the public form to one or two of these questions.
