What is lead validation?

By LeadFormHub Editorial Team ·

Lead validation checks that a submission has a reachable contact before you follow up. Format checks catch a broken email or phone number. reCAPTCHA v3 reduces scripted junk. OTP asks for a code sent to that email, or to an India mobile number. These steps do not judge whether the person is a good fit.

Why it matters

A form can be filled by a bot or by someone who mistyped a digit. Validation stops that obvious junk from becoming a call, while qualification asks whether the person wants what you sell.

Example

Illustrative example. A quote form requires a phone number, checks that it looks like a phone number, runs reCAPTCHA v3, and sends an SMS code because the visitor is in India. The lead is saved after the code matches. A second form, for a newsletter, checks the email format and skips the code. The example shows two choices. It is not a measured outcome.

How to measure or apply it

Use format checks on every public form. Add reCAPTCHA v3 where the form is easy for a script to find. Add OTP when a bad contact would waste a sales call. Then count confirmed invalid leads against total leads for the same dates, and compare that rate before and after the extra check. Keep the offer the same while you compare.

In LeadFormHub

SMS OTP supports India mobile numbers; email OTP works worldwide. OTP is not on the free plan. Pro includes 100 verifications a month and Business includes 1000. Both email and SMS codes share that monthly quota.
